It's officially COLD SEASON! Some of you have been asking us about natural remedies to make to help stay healthy (and in tip top vocal condition) this winter. We warn you- some of these recipes may only be for the brave, BUT they really do work to help clear out mucus, balance out your system, and re-invigorate your body and voice.

Lemon, Ginger, Honey: All Natural Cold Flu Remedy (by Simple Green Smoothies) - Keep a big batch of this in your fridge to add to a cup of tea or hot water throughout the winter

Turmeric- Ginger Elixir (by Clean Plates)

Apple Cider Vinegar/Lemon Tea (by ME!)

3/4c of hot water

Juice of 1/2 a lemon

1 Tbs of Manuka Honey (it's pricey, but it's the most effective) OR 1 Tsp of LOCAL honey (get it  at a farmer's market...it has the local allergens in it, so your body will be better able to adapt to  its surroundings)

1 shot of Apple Cider Vinegar (preferably BRAGG'S all natural)

Combine ingredients in a mug. Stir. Drink.

Turmeric Tea (by Christine Schneider of LifeLight Massage

1 cup ground ginger

1 cup ground cinnamon

1 cup ground turmeric

Combine and save for future use.

When ready for tea...

1 tablespoon of mixture

1 cup coconut milk or almond milk

1 Tbs of honey (Manuka or local)

Heat the milk on the stove. Add 1 tablespoon of ginger/cinnamon/turmeric mixture. Add honey to taste.

Start or end your day with these concoctions when you're starting to feel a cold come on, and  you'll avoid having to spend days in bed without singing!
